The "F" style with F holes mandolin is purely American Design, Famously played by greats like Bill Monroe and David Grisman these mandolins has stood the test of time. The "F" style mandolin has some more ornate features than it's "A" style counterparts such as the hand carved scroll on the body, 2 points on the body and scrolls on the head stock. The MD315 is Eastman's entry level "F" style mandolin, with it's solid spruce top and solid maple back and sides it's perfect for somebody just getting started or wanting to upgrade their more basic instrument.
